The Japanese alternative outfit BABYMETAL has joined the NFT craze with a set of limited edition collectible cards, available for a limited time.
Not to sound like a blind follower, but if BABYMETAL releases an NFT collectible card set, we might just consider jumping on the blockchain journey, even if we don’t fully understand what they mean. The music industry has certainly embraced the fish-to-water trend, and the Japanese Alternative Act is the latest act to participate in it.
the kawaii-metal band has announced a limited edition of NFT collectible cards, available for sale only for a limited time in May.
Those interested, however, will need to bring their A-game. The act only releases 1,000 sets on the WAX blockchain, each with 10 cards that represent “one of ten episodes of Metal Resistance – the ten chapters of the band that have unfolded since their inception ten years ago.”
Each card therefore represents a track from the group’s album 10 YEARS BABYMETAL, a collection of highlights gathered from their 10 year career and three studio album albums BABYMETAL (2014), METAL RESISTANCE (2016) and METAL GALAXY (2019).
Each set will also include an exclusive physical vinyl in gold color 10 YEARS BABYMETAL – this vinyl will only be available with the purchase of the NFT collectible cards, and not separately. Additionally, each NFT set will be hit, or numbered, based on the order number and time of purchase, meaning the first person to buy them gets the enviable # 1 position.
Trading fixes at retail at $ 100 ($ 129) and will sell at babymetal.cards only for 72 hours (or until sold out) from May 7, 1:00 a.m. AEST.
