DC sets up a future state in Second Son, Batman, and Green Lantern
Don’t think Future State was a two-month aberration. Destined to be a possible future of the DC Universe, it is now clear that 5G was meant to be the bridge that connected the DC Universe to this eventual reality, or severed the link. So yeah, Jonathan Kent would be the new Superman, and Tim Fox would be the new Batman, and then you would follow their stories as young men, with the potential of their future being to come – or not. Roughly the state that Alan moore suggested with the Twilight Of The Superheroes proposal – but then again, aren’t they all?
And today Batman No. 108, The Green Lantern # 2, Suicide Squad # 3 and The Next Batman: Second Son # 10 take big steps in this direction. First, Batman # 108 sees Mayor Nakano preparing a new type of hero following A-Day…
Whereas in The Next Batman: Second Son it facilitates the meeting between Simon Saint and Lucius Fox for the first time.
In the future state, Nakono is still of legal age, Saint Industries runs the Magistrate program using Foxtech technology, as the Fox family provides legal coverage while Tim Fox is the next Batman.
But there is also the magistrate’s Peacekeeper-01 …
Now confirmed as Arkham Asylum Guard Sean Mahoney who heroically survived A-Day.
How much Future state Gotham will it happen? Suicide Squad # 3 crosses over with Teen Titans Academy, setting up Bolt to Future State: Suicide Squad will be led by Conner Kent, as well as Red X for Future state: Teen Titans.
Whereas in The Green Lantern # 2 today, but the lanterns part ways and are sent across the galaxy in new and unknown fashions, it reminds us Future state: green lanterns, where they’re all left with no power from Green Lantern after the big battery on OA blew up. Today we see why they ended up where they ended up, but also …
… The future state is getting closer and closer.
There is, however, a green lantern that still works.
Well, she has a future state: the Justice League to join …
