Return of the perfume with the groovy single ‘Polygon Wave’
Japanese electropop trio Perfume is back with a groovy new single, ‘Polygon Wave’.
With funky guitars and punchy 4/4 rhythms, the single marks Perfume’s return to its original techno-pop style. Continuing the streak started with their 2020 single, “Saisei”, “Polygon Wave” moves further away from the future bass sound featured on their recent albums, “Future Pop” from 2018 and “Cosmic Explorer” from 2016.

To celebrate the track’s release, Perfume – who are A-chan, Kashiyuka and Nocchi – will be giving two concerts at Pia Arena MM in Yokohama, scheduled for August 14 and 15. The group plans to broadcast live the date of August 15, although specific details have not yet been released.
The track will also serve as the theme song for the Japanese edition of the TV Singing Competition, The masked singer, which will be released as an Amazon Original show in September. The perfume will be present as a panelist for the show.
Perfume will perform at Primavera Sound next year, the Barcelona festival announced in May. They will perform on June 9 alongside Rina Sawayama, Otoboke Beaver and producer Wata Igarashi, as well as Dreamcatcher, the first K-pop group to perform at the Spanish festival.
