Unearthed High is open for 2021! – Earthen
If you are a high school student who makes music, listen to it.
Unearthed High, our nationwide search for the best high school music group, is back and we want to hear from you.
Throughout its 14 years, the competition has introduced us to local legends like George Alice, The Kid Laroi, Japanese Wallpaper, KIAN, Arno Faraji, Genesis Owusu, Gretta Ray, Hockey Dad and, of course, our reigning Teenage Champions. Joans.
Not only will the 2021 champion join this prestigious list, but you will also win a very huge and very special prize. We’ll take you to Sydney to help you record, mix or master your next big hit at studio triple j.
You’ll also receive professional industry advice from a senior music director and we’ll put you in touch for a little mentoring session with one of your favorite artists. Who knows, we might even rock in your school!
It is important to note that we will adhere to travel restrictions, so we will make interesting things happen ~ virtually ~ if we are not able to deliver them IRL. We will keep you posted.
In addition to being eligible for the grand prize, the best Unarthed High entry from a First Nations artist will gain ongoing mentorship from the Association of Artist Managers (AAM), as well as a songwriting workshop at their school through the APRA AMCOS Songmakers program.
If your fingers are getting ready to pick up the instruments and send a message to your group’s group chat, here’s how to get in.
- Upload your song (s) to your triple j Unearthed profile before Sunday July 25 at midnight (AEST).
- Check the box indicating that you are an Unarthed High artist (this is very important!)
- Cross fingers!
And that’s all! Good luck and read it full competition page be through everything you need to know.
